Abstract: Higher education institutions seek to increase their efficiency and quality in order to achieve the needs of society and the requirements of development and labor market, and to get rid of the traditional systems and bureaucracy and orientation towards modern systems, as well as possessing the necessary flexibility and dynamic to upgrade to the future. Total quality management inHigher education is considered as one of the important approaches to achieve these goals. This article addresses the concepts associated with quality in higher education, and discusses some Arab and international experiences in the application of total quality management in higher education. At the end, this study presents proposed methods for the development of the Algerian university in light of the adoption of total quality management based on Arab and international experiences, such as the quality of Professor, quality of student, quality of educational programs and teaching methods
