Abstract: This study aimed to know to what extent do the teacher's lesson plans of Arabic language (4th AM) include the appropriate reading skills for the Algerian pupil. We have adopted the descriptive approach (Content Analysis) in order to analyze the study's sample which is 125 lesson plans represent the standard ones for the fourth district in El-Oued. We have prepared a list of reading skills for 4 AM; and after we have tested its validity and reliability, we have analyzed the lesson plans upon it. The results of this study showed that the experts agreed on 15 skills to be appropriate for the fourth AM pupil. The study showed also a great disparity and imbalance in the extent of including the appropriate reading skills for the Algerian pupil in the teacher's lesson plans, where the ratio of 40 % of the appropriate reading skills for the pupil is not included in the teacher's lesson plans, the ratio of 13.33 % of skills were included in a very low degree, the same ratio represents the skills that were included in a very high degree, and the ratio of skills that were included in an appropriate degree was 20 % of the total skills; and in the light of the results of the study.
