Abstract

In the past two decades there was a growing feeling of fear and anxiety about the aggravatedenvironmental crisis and acceleration of the depletion of the natural resources which weremainly due to the increasing competition among economic corporations, especially the industrial corporations, for the depletion of natural resources and in particular thoseexhaustible resources. This led to the emergence of a new concept of development integratethe environmental concepts along with economic development known as sustainabledevelopment. The proponents of this approach suggest a set of legal standards, economicinstruments and strategic plans to rationalize the consumption of natural resources in order toprevent the depletion of the economic corporations of these resources and the protection of therights of future generations to benefit from the natural resources, and thereby achieving socialjustice and making the development more sustainable. We will try through this paper to discuss the behaviour of the economic corporations towards the exhaustible resources and how they are measured.
