Pour une approche sémiotique des œuvres picturales de Baya Mahieddine

Abstract

L’art n’est plus un langage pur loin de la réalité, c’est plutôt un donné à parcourir, à traverser et à décrypter. En effet, la production artistique comme étant un langage codé, peut être investiguée par l’approche sémiotique au même titre que toutes les autres images de civilisation (médiatiques, publicitaires) qui nous entourent. Cette étude évoque d’abord, l’intérêt d’une approche sémiotique visuelle pour l’univers pictural de Baya Mahieddine, puis l’analyse des structures formelles (iconographiques, plastiques) et sémantiques de ses tableaux afin d’en comprendre les différentes représentations. Art seen today, is no longer confined to an absolute value, which is above criticism. Indeed, the artistic production as a coded language resolutely "operative" may be investigated by the semiotic approach, in particular, as well as all other civilization images (media and advertising) around us. This study suggests first, the interests of visual semiotics approach to the pictorial univers of Baya Mahieddine, a great Algerian artist often overlooked and underestimated. Then the analysis of formal structures (iconographic, plastic) and semantic of his paintings in order to understand the different representations.
