La représentation de la femme Bou-Saâdie dans la peinture d’Etienne Dinet durant la période coloniale entre réalité et imagination

Abstract

Notre mémoire propose une lecture sémiotique de la représentation de la femme Bou-Saâdie dans les tableaux d’Etienne Dinet. Il s’agit de répondre à la question suivante : comment Etienne Dinet représente la femme Bou-Saâdie à travers ses tableaux ? Et pourquoi la décrit-il souriante malgré sa situation perturbante ? L’interprétation de l’image picturale repose, généralement, sur la sémiotique de l’image mais elle compte également sur la géographie et l’histoire sociale et politique de la région. A la fin de notre recherche nous avons conclu que les deux tableaux analysés ne représentent que la réalité de la femme de joie à Bou-Saȃda qui a vécu dans de bonnes conditions pendant la colonisation, car elle était au service des soldats français soit par la danse, soit par la prostitution.
