| dc.subject | Communicative competence is considered the most important element in learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as a Second Language (ESL). Therefore, it is imperative for teachers to use methods in the clasrom that help students to be communicatively competent. Many researchers claimed that with the experience of at least one oral presentation in English, students can forge ahead in their communication in English. Thus, the present study aims at showing the extent to which oral presentations can be an apropriate method to develop English for General Academic Purposes (EGAP) students' communicative competence. This work uses both students' questionaire and teacher's interview. The questionaire administered to second year EGAP students and an interview was held with their teacher who used to give her students clasrom oral presentations in the speaking clas. The analysis of both methods used to gather data show that both students and their teacher hold the belief very strongly that oral presentations can develop students' communicative competence. | en_US |
