Abstract

This article attempts to study the symbol (inventive) in the contemporary discourse of Arabic poetry, he discusses this concept and its techniques, its types and functions. The Arab poet already had modern symbols, which are the fabric of the modern world in his thoughts and physical, and also had his own methods to do so. The expression symbol reflects the emotional state based on the fantasy and the subconscious, away from the personification and anthropomorphism.

Each symbol represents a glossary because various contexts, is awarded to an expressionist space to achieve innovation and enrich the connotation. And the symbol will be converted to an artistic element in the construction of contemporary Arab poetic discourse.
