Abstract

Paratext is a vital key in the understanding of a literary text. The author uses this tool in order to invite the reader to question about the events, discourse and even the text genre. Therefore, paratextcan be seen as an implicit message from the author or publisher to arouse the reader's curiosity to push him into reading their work. The purpose of this article is to study the most significant paratextual elements of the PolygoneÉtoilé, according to our view, to analyze their particular effects when taking into account KatebYacine'swork,and most importantly to refer to the method used when practicing the literary genre (style).
