dc.description.abstractAlthough lingisitic studies were interseted in the term and its meaning, meaning is of prime interest in the linguistic study because communication is the aim of the act of speech. Inasmuch as the ways to understanding meaning are multiple and variegated, this paper attempts to present the reality of the interest of meaning in the classical linguistic Arabic studies and introduce its main different limitations relate d to the main levels of classical linguistic Arabic studies : grammar, conjugation, morphology, lexis, and ultimately to demonstrate that meaning is supported by many vectors and in the search of its understanding, the researcher must possess all those different mechanisms, and to show that the classical linguistic study preceded the modern linguistic study in its approach to the manner of delimiting the meaning.en_US
