Abstract

The aim of this study is twofold: In the first place it purports to introduce the public to “Muhammad Ibn Ubba Al-Mazzmari” (died in 1160 after hijra); one of the celebrated Algerian grammarians (he lived in the Touat region, the province of Adrar), and his major works. In the second place it will attempt to explore in depth the most original aspects of his grammatical doctrine by analyzing his poetical rendition of the Ajarrumiya treatise.
