Ibrahim AL-KONI's novels contain multiple artistic figures with different fields of knowledge, where interference is made between dream and reality, darkness and light, present and absent, Men and Jin, real and myth, historic and magic, philosophical and psychological... Indeed, our study seeks to debate on one of the most important characteristic of Ibrahim ALKONI's literature that is the totemic aspect. In his works, he presents a quasi-mythical Saharan world, in which the relationship between man and animal can reach the highest degrees of harmony, communication and solution and in which the animal becomes venerated by the Saharan This holiness and veneration can reach such a higher level that the animal takes the sacred totem's place at the Saharan tribe, dominating and practicing its rituals since the down of time. Through his stories AL-KONI have dealt with one of the most important psychological studies that is "Totemism". AL-KONI might be singularized for his interest towards an important aspect of the Touareg mythology that believes in the brotherhood between men, animal and plants. In addition to that their "ANHI" charter prohibits the killing of animals, particularly incriminates the murder of a pregnant female and what follows such as cutting down trees, or breaking birds' eggs. Who violates this charter will be cursed and will have a tragic fate. However, what is Totemism ? How does AL-KONI benefit from it? And what is "El Ouaddan's"- role especially as being the most used totem in his works- and in the Touareg mythology? Does he refer to the totem as being a belief and ritual or as a symbol and icon of Saharan nature? And what is the aesthetics use of this primary example at the technical and ideological levels?en_US
