Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze empirically the effect of trade openness on economic growth in Algeria during the period 1990- 2014. To do this we used the analysis of impulse reponse fonctions and the analysis of variance decomposition by the VAR model.The main results of this article show that trade openness does not have a significant effect on economic growth this means that opening up the economy to the outside, is not a determining factor for economic growth in Algeria.
