The pause is a phonetic phenomenon that comes from the transmitter and facilitates speech. It has an effort-saving purpose with respect to sound production, and thus it calls upon grammatical or rhetorical functions. It can also occur for aesthetic purposes when it comes at the end of the proposition. For its part, es-sektis shorter than the pause, and it is often found in the Qur’an, in poetry, or in mere conversation. The aim of this article is to deal with these two phenomena and their impact on the grammatical aspect of language.en_US
