The relationship between attitudes towards the concept of citizenship and social responsibility Among the university students: An Empirical Study

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the nature of the relationship between attitudes towards the concept of citizenship and social responsibility among the university students. The study sample consisted of (134) young men and women, and to collect the data , the researchers prepared a scale of attitudes towards the concept of citizenship and a scale of social responsibility, and after the statistical treatment, the study showed the following results:

-There is a correlation between attitudes towards the concept of citizenship and social responsibility among the university students.

-There is a correlation between the attitude towards the concept of identity and social responsibility among the university students.

-There is a correlation between the attitude towards the concept of belongingness and social responsibility among the university students.

-There is a correlation between the attitude towards the concept of political participation and social responsibility among the university students.

The results were interpreted in light of the outcome of the psychological heritage and previous studies, and Finally the study was culminated in a set of recommendations and proposals.
