dc.description.abstractThe studyisintended to promote the use of treatedwastewater in agriculture. The methodologyused in thisstudyisbased on surveysapplied on farmerswho use treatedwastewater. A first campaignallowed us set up the current situation and identify the gabs in terms of knowledge, attitude and practices. This first survey (ENQ1) wasfollowed by a communication and awareness-raising phase based on the “CIV” (Intensive Diffusion Campaign) method. A second survey (ENQ2) has been carried out to measure the evolution of someindicatorssuch as knowledge and practices on the use of treatedwastewaterestablishedduring the previouscampaign (ENQ1) but also, to evaluateeffectiveness of the transmission channelsadoptedduring the awareness-raisingcampaign for the purpose of their adaptation for similar futur actions in the field. Results of the first surveyshowedthatmajority of farmershadgabs in terms of knowledge and practices related to the use of treatedwastewater. However, the evaluation of the effectawarenesscampaign on farmersshowed a significantreduction (p<0.05) on severalgabssuchas: knowledge on water resources, Hygienicmeasures and regulations as well as best practices on the use of treatedwastewaterlike good hygiene practices. Meanwhile, the effectwas not significant in terms of compliance withregulationsrelating to the access of livestock to areas irrigated by treatedwastewater.en_US
