A Task Based Approach to Teaching English Intonation Patterns in Oral Performance Case study: Second Year Licence Students at KMUO

Abstract

The present study attempt at examining the impact of applying task based approach in using intonation tones. This research is focused on three major objectives: (1) To enhance students' use of ITs by the application of TBA (2) To examine how can TBA enhances second year students' of English performance in oral sessions (3) To investigating students’ opinions towards the usage of TBA. The present study is conducted by, a quasi experimental method which includes pre-test, training session and post test, in addition to an interview to one teacher and students . The data collection is based on one teacher and 15 students recorded interview. Moreover, the population consists of 60 second year license students at the department of English language KMUO in the academic year 2017/2018.La présente étude tente d'examiner l'impact de l'application d'une approche basée sur les tâches dans l'utilisation des tonalités d'intonation. Cette recherche s'articule autour de trois objectifs principaux: (1) Améliorer l'utilisation des TI par les étudiants (2) Examiner comment TBA peut améliorer les performances des élèves de deuxième année en anglais lors de sessions orales (3) opinions sur l'utilisation de TBA. La présente étude est menée par une méthode quasi expérimentale qui comprend un pré-test, une session de formation et un post-test, en plus d'un entretien avec un enseignant et des étudiants. La collecte de données est basée sur un enseignant et 15 étudiants ont enregistré une interview. En outre, la population se compose de 60 étudiants de licence de deuxième année au département de langue anglaise KMUO dans l'année académique 2017/2018.موضوع هذه الدراسة يتمحور حول تأثير تطبيق المنهج القائم على المهام على تحسين استخدام التنغيم. يركز هذا البحث على ثلاثة أهداف رئيسية: (1) تعزيز استخدام الطلاب للتنغيم من خلال تطبيق المنهج القائم على المهام. (2 فحص كيف يمكن للمنهج القائم على المهام تحسين أداء طلاب السنة الثانية في اللغة الإنجليزية في حصة التعبير الشفوي. (3) الآراء تجاه استخدام المنهج القائم على المهام.و لقد اعتمد الباحثون طرق مختلفة لجمع البيانات للدراسة والتي تمثلت في إجراء الدراسة بطريقة شبه تجريبية و معاينة الطلاب خلال حصة التعبير الشفوي، بالإضافة إلى مقابلة مع أستاذ واحد و 15 طالب. علاوة على ذلك، يشمل البحث 06 طالب من السنة الثانية في قسم اللغة الإنجليزية KMUO في العام الدراسي 2017/2018.
