Study of Araneae communities in different agricultural and natural environments of the northern Algerian Sahara This work was carried out between 2013 and 2017 in 17 stations in arid zones, between agricultural environments (palm groves, citrus, alfalfa) and natural ones (reg, erg, Oued bed, wetland), in the Wilayas of El Oued, Ouargla and Ghardaia. With direct hunting and Pitfall traps methods, sampling has resulted in the capture of 936 adult spiders, classified into 25 families, 71 genera and 124 species. The family Gnaphosidae is represented by 35 species belonging to 12 genera, followed by Salticidae with 21 species and 12 genera. The systematic study allowed pointing out three new records of spider species for the country, thus the biological study helped to understand the structure, the composition and the frequency of occurrence of spiders in the different study stations. Biodiversity analysis indicated that wetlands are the richest in species, and with the Sest estimator, the analytical species richness for habitats has been unveiled. Statistical analysis, by Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC) and Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA), allowed to identify groupings of spiders which are distinguished by Wilaya of study, and to highlight the affinities of spiders according to the variables of environment (humidity, anthropic action, altitude and latitude). This study presents also the global list of spider fauna in the northern Sahara that counts 106 species, with notes on taxonomic changes and localities of distributions of each species.
