Teaching grammar in the light of the competency approach

Abstract

This article deals with the reality of teaching grammatical rules under the new system, which is the approach of competency. As the basis of the Arabic language, it must receive a fair amount of attention from teachers and learners. What is noticeable in the educational arena, is the feeling of learners aversion and difficulty in the absorption of grammar; this is due to several reasons, one particular reason may be, the linguistic reality of the Algerian society that is characterized by multilingualism, another reason could be a weakness in the teacher competency. As a new pedagogy approach, it aims at improving the conditions of education; does it succeed in addressing the problem of teaching Arabic grammar?
