Self-efficacy expectations and its relationship to cheating as a negative behavior Field study on a sample of middle and secondary school students

Abstract

The study aims at investigating the level of perceived self-efficacy and its relation to cheating as a negative behaviour among a sample of secondary and middle school students. The researchers developed a questionnaire on cheating behaviour that consisted of 32 items, and used the Self-efficacy Scale designed by Schwarzer and Jerusalem (1995), translated from German by Samer Jameel Radwan (1997). they were applied on a sample of 167 students. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between self-efficacy expectations and cheating, significant differences in the sex variable in favour of female and the academic level in favor of the fourth year of middle school, and repeated was in favour of non-repeated.
