Abstract: This research aims at investigating the contribution of physical and mental health to improve both the level of teaching performance and achievement motivation among middle school teachers. A set of hypotheses have been formulated to serve as temporary answers to the research questions. According to the nature of the subject, the descriptive comparative method was adopted. The sample of the study consists of 120 teachers of middle school. It was selected following the purposive sampling strategy. To achieve the objectives of the research and to collect data from the participants, a number of tools that measure mental health, teaching performance and achievement motivation were employed. The data were treated statistically using the SPSS programme. The results of the study are as follows: • There is a correlation relationship between the psychological and physical health, the teaching performance and the level of achievement motivation for middle school teachers. • There is a difference in the teaching performance of the teachers depending on seniority for those with at least 12 years of experience. • There is no difference in achievement motivation that could be attributed to the variable of seniority At last, the search results have been discussed in the light of the previous studies and the theoretical framework of the study. Further, a number of recommendations have been made.
