Abstract: The objective of this study is to identify the leadership patterns practiced by the heads of departments and divisions working in the hydrocarbons sector in the region of Ouargla. To obtain the necessary data to prepare the study and achieve the objectives of the study, we relied on: TEST of describe the effectiveness of the leader for (Hersi and Blanchard), in order to determine the leadership pattern adopted by the heads of departments and divisions in the subordination of subordinates. The tool includes 12 positions that reflect the maturity levels of the subordinates. Four ways of leadership can be determined by the heads of departments and divisions in supervising subordinates: reporting, persuasion, delegation, participation. After the verification of the validity of the two tools and thus verify their validity for the current study, the study was applied to a representative sample of the statistical community of workers in the fuel sector in the region of Ouargla (31heads of departments and divisions) The study found the most important results: Heads of departments and and divisions working in the fuel sector in the region of Ouargla according to the theory of position of Hersey and Blanchard, has been interpreted findings reached in the current study in the light of previous studies and scientific heritage and interviews with heads of departments and sections.
