Abstract: This study aimed to identify the role of psychological empowerment in enhancing the organizational commitment through a field study that included a sample of individuals working in university libraries, The analytical descriptive approach was adopted by Preparing and developing a questionnaire and distributing it to the target sample and Their analysis was based on the statistical program (spss), This study reached a number of results, the most important of which is the existence of a statistically significant effect on the dimensions of psychological empowerment Through dimension (meaning, competence, self-determination, impact) in strengthening organizational commitment In the study sample, In addition to the absence of significant differences in the perception of the members of the study sample of the role of psychological empowerment in enhancing the organizational commitment due to personal and functional variables except for the variable level of education, The study concluded with a set of recommendations: The need to adopt the policy of the open door by holding meetings and periodic meetings with different employees to identify their problems and listen to their views on the way the performance of tasks and procedures
