Algeria's energy mix between current reality challenges and future prospects

Abstract

Algerian economy relies entirely on low energy; so that more than 99% of the mix energy in Algeria come from hydrocarbons. The severe economic situation of Algeria is not explained only by the decrease of the international market of hydrocabons because Algerian economy suffers since a long time from non-diversification of products. In order to enhance the national economy, a deep reorganization is required and a large production diversification is more than necessary, especially by relying on renewable energy and trying to increase exportations
