Abstract: The present study aims to study the relationship between the emotional intelligence and the motivation for achievement among the students repeating the Bac exam. The appropriate descriptive approach was adopted for this study. 150 secondary schools students were randomly selected from of Touggourt during 2017-2018. Two data collection tools were used: a tool for measuring emotional intelligence and motivation for achievement test. The result revealed that there was a difference between the emotional intelligence and the motivation for achievement among the students repeating the Baccalaureate degree. It was also found that there were no differences in the motivation for achievement between the sexes according to their levels of emotional intelligence pertaining to the interaction between them. Additionally, it was found that there was no difference between scientific and arts disciplines.
