Abstract: This study deals with the training issue of teachers of French as a foreign language and its relation with the quality of performance on the act of teaching learning at primary school in an Algerian context, particularly in El-Oued region where a population of teachers is taken as a sample in this inquiry. Findings show the necessity of thinking again of the teachers' training including initial training within the Algerian university: as for its objectives, goals, needs and expectations of trained teachers to upgrade the performance of teaching-learning act
