Abstract

Drilling and work-over operations of oil wells are often confronted with various problems related to the nature of the formations crossed, the poor choice of drilling parameters, the condition of the equipment used, human errors, maintenance policy and the different problems during drilling. These constraints greatly increase Non-Productive Time (NPT).

NPT is the time taken to solve the problems that led to a stoppage of Drilling or Work-over operations. These serious constraints lead to losing millions of Dollars even happens to the well stocking, every year for all these reasons, our study based is a statistical contribution of real-time tracking in order to reduce non-productive time.

In this vision, we will discuss the influence of NPT faults on the availability of the device, the direct causes are the axes of possible solutions, It is, indeed, optimized and put adequate improvement actions in order minimize downtime.
