Groundwater protection mechanismsunder Law of water N° 05-12 modified and completed

Abstract

This aims of this study is to highlight the most important protection measures included in the Algerian Water Law by analyzing the overall legal texts provided by this law and its regulatory decrees.The problem of water is a global problem that concerns all countries without exception. Damage to them requires everyone to a serious contribution to address it.

Most countries including Algeria have sought to develop a set of modern legal measures and develop strict strategies and laws to protect this water resource, ensure its provision, regulate its exploitation and restrict activities that may endanger its existence and quality. Algeria is one of the countries that depends on this type of water to meet its needs of drinking water, agriculture and industry.

One of the most important conclusions is the groundwater is one of the most important sources for supplying drinking water and its exploitation for other purposes must be in accordance with the procedures specified by the water law, and the latter has provided them with special protection to avoid pollution .
