Arab experiences in measuring sustainable development

Abstract

The interest of various countries of the world in the last two decades has increased with the achievement of sustainable development. It is necessary for each country to prepare national reports containing a number of indicates through which it can measure the progress which it has achieved in this field. On this basis, the Arab countries like other countries of the world have tended to adopt new options to achieve sustainable development that ensures continuity and permanent stability. One of the pioneering experiences is the UAE experience which is particularly embodied through ambitions development plans based on the vision of the UAE 2021.This vision included a number of national indicators through which progress can be measured by the state achieving sustainable development comparing with other countries , and it is necessary to stand up and shed the light on the most important priorities and indicators contained as well as to identify the weaknesses and challenges that face .
