The Ouargla region has been suffering for over than thirty years of phenomena of excessive rise and mineralization (from 50 g / l to 190 g / l) of the waters of the superficial (phreatic) water table, as well as the salinisation of the overlying formations. This rise in water is supposedly attributed to the overexploitation of the waters of the deep aquifers; for irrigation and drinking water needs, which do not have an effective natural outlet and adequate sanitation network capable of evacuating huge amounts of water, knowing full well that the topography of the study area is almost flat, and is marked by closed depressions (chotts and sebkhas). Seasonal fluctuations in groundwater levels have adverse effects on soil stability (land droop) and civil construction and hydraulic handiwork. In addition, geological and structural constraints seem to be at the origin of this phenomenon which persists until now. This thesis is a contribution to the study of this complex phenomenon, and constitutes a geochemical approach to the study of the water and geological formations of the surface water of this study area and their relation with the lithological nature and structural the geological layers, as well as the underlying and deep aquifer formations, but also to establish a relationship between this upwelling phenomenon and the formation of chotts and sebkhas. Indeed, we have tried to reconstruct the structural evolution of the aquifer formations by compiling and graphical and cartographic combination of the different geological, geophysical, structural and spatial data. In addition, measurements and analyzes made by us in-situ, and in a specialized laboratories, dealing with physicochemical, chemical and isotopic parameters (oxygen 18 and Deuterium) on the waters of this superficial water table. Thus, geochemical and mineralogical analyzes (X-ray diffraction and fluorescence (XDR, XRF ..) on surface and subsurface formations enabled us to establish graphical, cartographic and thermodynamic simulations using appropriate software. (Surfer, Petrel, Rockwork, Arcgis Phreeqc, Diagrams ....) .. The main results obtained show that the main causes of the rise and mineralization of waters and formations of the surface water of Ouargla are of global geological order which integrates the lithological nature (water-rock interactions), structural configuration (tectonics) and geomorphologic characteristics. This aquifer has been existed for thousands of years and is far from exclusively related to human activity in the region. However, the mutual interactions between the formations of the superficial aquifer and the water of the aquifers underlying the superimposed aquifer system of the Continental Intercalaire and the terminal complex, by a draining which carries significant contents of silica through the faults evoked thus giving, birth to a homogeneous chemical and mineralogical composition identifiable on the ground, composed of carbonates and silica, observable in the form of gravel and flint blocks Quaternary age.
