Abstract: | This work shows the influence of the addition of chromium (Cr) on the physical
properties in sites A and / or B of the perovskite structure ABO3. The stoichiometric formula
of the ceramic is: [Pb (0.975) La 0.015 Nd 0.01] [(Zr0.524 Ti0.476) (0.9875 - (W / 4)) Nb0.005 Cr wO3] with w
= 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5 and 5.0 mol % (abbreviated to PLNZNCT). This ceramic has been synthe-
sized by the solid-method which consists in heating the mixture of oxides at different tempera-
tures alternately (1100°C, 1140°C, 1170°C, 1200°C and 1230°C), in order to optimize the op-
timal sintering temperature where the density of the samples is maximum. Different character-
ization techniques were used in this study, such as: XRD, MEB, EDS and RAMAN. Thus
electrical measurements were carried out (Dielectric, Ferroelectric, Piezoelectric and electro-
mechanical. The results of X-rays (XRD), reveal that for the whole of the samples have a
phase of pure perovskite of tetragonal symmetry. The density was obtained equal 7.66 g / cm3
(96.2% of the theoretical density), by the addition of 1 mol% of Cr2O3, beyond this concentra-
tion the densification is lower The PLNZNCT ceramic at the sintering temperature 1200 ° C
and doped with 1mol% of Cr2O3 exhibited excellent properties at the transition point at 1KHz,
which are as follows:
εr = 24805.80, tanδ = 0.07213, Tc = 383°C, Pr=29.266 (μ.C / cm2), Ec= 1.0097
(kV/mm), d33 = 580, kp = 0.536, Qm = 108 and ρ = 0.1642 × 108(Ω.cm).
Keywords: perovskite, PZT, PLNZNCT, Dielectric, Ferroelectric, Piezoelectric, elec-
