Abstract: The oil field of Hassi Guettar west is located southwest of the field of Hassi Messaoud, in the block n ° 427, It consists of the Paleozoic formations going from Cambrian (units R3 and R2,unit Ra, unit Ri, zone of the alternations ) to the Ordovician (Claystone of El Gassi, sandstone of El Atchane and Hamra quartzites). This study consists of analysis of the fractures in the wells by cores and by imagery in the Hamra quartzites reservoir for the identification of the types and the directions of the fractures of which the study of fractures by the data of the carrots has made it possible to indicate the presence of multiple types and directions: induced, open, and cemented fractures that are generally clogged with pyrite. The study of imagery fractures has shown that the majority of fractures are open and partially open. The orientation of Breakouts in all the wells is NNE-SSE while the horizontal orientation of maximum stress is NO-SE (perpendicular to the direction of the breakouts or direction of the fractures).
