Abstract: The dependence of Algeria on oil revenues, making its economy dependent on natural resources, So that the oil industry affect the fiscal policy of the state, Affecting its general budget, which is linked to changes in oil prices, Whether it is positive or negative, Focusing on the period in which Algeria has known the oil shock (beginning in 2014) Resorted to the adoption of austerity policy Represented in the reduction of public expenditure To reduce the negative effects on the state budget. The budget of the state during the study period was characterised by higher expenditures during the period 2009-2013, in the period 2014-2018, there was a significant reduction in revenues, resulting in a budget deficit. Austerity policy has contributed to the preservation of available resources, as well as the stabilisation of the budget balance, Thanks to the establishment of a medium-term preventive plan by the Ministry of Finance, to avoid the repercussions of the financial crisis on the state budget.
