Abstract: This study aims to shed light on the importance of developing the banking services within the Algerian public banks in the state of Mila. In order to achieve this objective, 56 questionnaires were distributed among bank managers, vice directors and study supervisors, 40 valid questionnaires were retrived. The latters were processed using SPSS software package. The study reached a number of results the most important of which is that the level of development of banking services in Algerian public banks is high in all its dimensions, whether through market penetration, market development, diversification, or improvement and development of new services. The study is based on a set of recommendations, the most important of which is to give the Algerian public banks a kind of freedom in dealing and not committing the banks to a unified strategy in order to increase competitiveness and thus develop more new services. This is due to the attempt of creating a competitive value among Algerian public banks. This study has reached a set of recommendations among which is granting Algerian public banks a kind of autonomy in service providing, in addition to not commit banks to a unified strategy in order to increase competitiveness and thus develop more new services.
