Abstract

This study is an attempt to shield light the relationship between religion and politics in Islam and by focusing on the political role played by the Sufi movements in Algeria and Muslim World, and by underlining historical and knowledgeable roots of the political dimension of the Sufi Movements in relation to the mysticism and political roles played. Both in terms of the establishment of political opposition in Islamic history, or those related to defending the political presence of Algeria. The Maghreb- after the fall of Almohads’ State, Sufism who sometimes supported the Ottoman authority and sometimes revolted against it.Ended up with the resistance toward to French colonialism and the establishment of the modern Algerian national state. This paper trying to shields light the nature of Sufism in Islam and its origin and its stages of its formation.
