Abstract: Through this study, we attempted to highlight the protectio n of religious freedom for non-Muslims in Algerian legislation and clarify the view of Islam, which is the State religion about its vision on the issue of freedom of belief in legal texts and the guarantees granted to non-Muslims and to assess its effectiveness in creating coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims through the rights and duties of non-Muslims in the Islamic community in general and particularly Algerian society both in their relationship with the State or their relationship with Muslims. The various relevant constitutional norms were clarified, the nationality law, the civil service law and the law on the practice of religious rituals were addressed in related matters, and how this issue was addressed either directly or indirectly. These laws have protected the right of non-Muslims to practice their religious rituals while respecting the established rules, which reflected positively on the coexistence between Muslims and others. Where it is clear that the Algerian law is keen on providing protection for non-Muslims and freedom to practice their beliefs, but within the limits of the legally established controls that seek to frame the process of practicing religious rites for these without abolishing
