Using electronic archives by journalists in Algerian media institutions

Abstract

This study aims to identify the reality and challenges of using electronic archive in Algerian media institutions through the use of the descriptive survey method on a sample of media professionals in the print and radio media in the state of Setif on 24 terms. The study concluded that although the electronic archive provided effective means in the maintenance of documents from great dangers, and both media professionals and media institutions benefit from its services, but the archives in general and electronic archive in particular in the Algerian media organizations suffer from lack of interest from administrators on these institutions because of several reasons relating fundamentally to the problem of the cost of electronic archive and the numerical and qualitative shortage of archivists.
