Abstract: The present study aimed to find out the relationship between academic engagement and academic achievement in the light of some variables, to investigate the differences in engagement and achievement according to gender and academic specialization, and to examine the predictability of academic achievement through academic engagement, for a sample consists of (330) of secondary school students in Ouargla. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the scale of academic engagement prepared by the researcher was used, and the average grade of students for the academic year 2018/2019 has been drown upon. The descriptive correlative approach was adopted. Through statistical processing of SPSS data, the following results were found: There was a positive and weak statistically significant relationship between academic engagement and academic achievement among the study sample. There was no differences in the relationship between academic engagement and academic achievement according to gender and specialization variables in the study sample. Academic achievement can be predicted through academic engagement
