Abstract: This article is interested in the changes taking place in the culture of the Algerian university youth after the emergence of social networks, this last which quickly penetrated the homes, bringing about many positive and negative transformations, and among these changes the emergence of a new cultural model which spreads in Arab societies what really threatens their identities as well as their cultural specificities. At the same time, young people or what has become called the millennials generation are more vulnerable to these changes. In order to investigate this new cultural situation, during our preparation for the doctoral thesis, we conducted a field study on a sample of Algerian university youth, we adopted in our study the survey method, we also used the questionnaire and the observation and the interview tool. Our study revealed that students adopt different norms and values of social consensus when they are on cyberspace, and in the same context our study revealed their fascination with the western model, these results confirms the alienation experienced by the Algerian university youth, and the role of modern technology in general and social networks in particular on that alienation
