The current study aimed at revealing the effectiveness of a training program in the development of teaching performance for primary school teachers. After the needs questionnaire showed that the degree of need for teaching competencies was very high; a competency-based training program was developed and then applied to a sample of 44 male and female teachers , distributed randomly and equally to two experimental and control groups. For the purposes of data collection, a note card for teaching competencies consisting of (58) competency was applied before and after the activation of the training program. The results of the statistical analysis indicated that: - All teaching competencies included in the questionnaire needs to be trained to a very large extent. - There were statistically significant differences between the average scores of the control and experimental groups in the remote measurement on the observation card for the benefit of the experimental group members. - The training program has achieved great effectiveness in the development of the teaching performance of the teachers of the experimental group where the value of the square ETA (²η) 0,505. - The training program has been consistently effective since there were no significant differences between the average scores of the experimental group members in the post-measurement and follow-up measurements on the teaching competencies note carden_US
