dc.description.abstractThe present research aims at investigate the predictive ability of mental motivation for academic achievement of a sample of third year middle school students, and explore the relationship between mental motivation, academic achievement and gender.The study sample consisted of 80 students: 36 males, 44 females.To achieve the aim of the study, The (Faragi, 2013) Measure of Mental Motivation was used. Student's cumulative rate academic achievement of the second semester in the school year (2018-2019) was used as an indicator of academic achievements. The results showed a significant positive relationship between mental motivation and academic achievement with correlation coefficient = 0.38. Mental motivation proved to be a predictor of academic achievement with an explained variance of 14%. No Significant differences in mental motivation, academic achievement were found between different males and femalesen_US
