dc.description.abstractNo doubt family plays an important role in the acquisition of language skills of the child as the first natural and social environment in which the individual grows and receives the first elements of his culture, language and social heritage through the most important social function which is social education, the latter helps family to change the individual from a biological being into a social being characterized by the culture and values of his community. Considering that family is a social structure, it is based on social components and functions making it all integrated influenced by structural factors which constitute the first reference in the acquisition of language; among these factors we find the cultural and educational level of parents that plays a major role in creating opportunities to acquire language skills by arming parents with the basics of language learning, pronunciation and expression, in addition to the social economic situation which define the methods of upbringing and the possibilities that help in achieving linguistic development. This is why our study came to explain, through the most important socio-cultural handicap theory of the brilliant eminent sociologists “Basil Bernstein” theory of linguistic symbols” which is categorized within theories of education and inequality through the hypothesis: structural factors of the family have a role in the acquisition of language skills and expression of the child.en_US
