Abstract: This study seeks to fill this gap by investigating writing mistakes among heritage speakers of Arabic who were admitted at Zayed University in the Academic year 2016-2017 utilizing descriptive, statistical and field methods. These students have the same background. They all have learned Arabic as a second language in an international school, have finished high school, and recently began university. According to investigators writing mistakes are very common among these students .The main impetus of this study is to investigate the nature of these mistakes and to analyze their different aspects. For this, we have classified the mistakes based on three levels: (1) syntactic level, (2) morphological level and orthographic level. Furthermore, we seek to identify the most common mistakes made by these students and to propose solutions to dealand correct these mistakes. We hope that the results of the present study contribute to the development of a specific curriculum for the program “Heritage Speakers HT” of Zayed University and to provide tools for scholars, administrators and other people interested in the topic
