Abstract: We live today in the era of post-written culture era picture, the battle that is taking place today between the major countries and their domination of the poor countries is the battle for control of the image in all its forms and various meanings, ranging from television picture through satellite channels, and the cinematic image, and cartoons, and up to the picture In the areas of advertising, children's books are not all neutral, but carry goals and messages and therefore we must know the truth of the concept of the image and understand the language and decoding so that we can identify what broadcasts to us and around us pictures. The image is the essence of visual arts; although some arts need the word and sound to express things, but the image created a new language that captured the energy of sight and arrested his mind and imagination and evolved in the interaction of the invisible in the picture and human consciousness changed the life of the world, removed restrictions and penetrated borders and revealed the facts. This article examines the subject of the image in an attempt to shed light on its manifestations and structures, and how Roland Barth's semiotic approach exerts intervention in order to dismantle and reconstruct the elements of the image.
