Abstract: This study tackles the morals and ethics of journalism and media to which they are considered as the main pillars of the purposeful and constructive message. This research paper aims at highlighting the most important ethical values and principles in the practice of media tasks in general and particularly in Algeria in accordance with the media law January 2012 and the law of 2014 by knowing the extent of their embodiment and existence, relying on the method of critical qualitative analysis of those values and principles in theory and practice, citing real examples. Among the most important findings is that there is a state of imbalance and disconformity between what is theoretically established concerning the ethics and values of the profession, and what is applied. With the tyranny of political and economic pressures on the various media outlets, the media‘s message has been affected negatively on both sides the professional and the ethical one. It turns out that most of the legal provisions are not active yet, and they are characterized as being more authoritarian than ethical. So, the delay that occurs in the establishment of the Council of Morals and Ethics, and the authority to control the written press is a real evidence of this fact
