Abstract: The present study aimed to know the relationship between the level of negative thinking and the level of depression in a sample of blood pressure patients. Where the study sought to know the differences in the level of depression between the highs of negative thinking and low levels of negative thinking in the study sample. To achieve the goals of the study, two measures were used, the first measure is the scale of negative thinking prepared by researchers, as it was applied to a survey sample. This survey study resulted in the suitability of the scale for the purposes of the study, and its enjoyment of acceptable stability and sincerity, and the second scale is a measure of depression prepared by Aaron Beck. In the basic study based on the descriptive approach, a blood sample (93) patients was used for an intentional sample of patients. The data were collected and statistically analyzed based on the SPSS system, using the following tests: T-test for independent samples, mean, alpha-Cronbach coefficient The study yielded the following results: - There are significant differences between the two meaners in the level of depression in favor of those with negative thinking
