Abstract: Pierre Marty's theory is based on hospital medical observations and the foundations of psychoanalysis, which is considered necessary for the study of psychosomatic economics. Marty focused on the relationship between the Life and Death Instincts in man, and gave primary importance to the specificity of mental functioning in the somatization process, supossing that the individual with a psychosomatic organization has a particular mental functioning, determined by its fundamental structure and degree of mentalization. this operation approached through three dimensions: the imaginary space, the mentalization and the effectiveness of the defenses
