Abstract: The oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane in ethylene over molybdenum based catalysts supported and unsupported. The oxidative dehydrogenation reactions of Ethane in Ethylene by the air oxygen have been studied on the molybdenum based catalysts supported on SiO2 and unsupported. The structural, textural proprieties and the specific area of the catalytic systems prepared have been characterized with several techniques: Laser Raman Spectroscopy (LRS), Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR), specific surface areas (BET) measurement, energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry analyzer (EDX), Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). The catalytic results stored show that the support hasn‟t a remarkable influence on ethane and ethylene catalytic behavior via oxidative dehydrogenation reaction and the selectivity which varies during the whole preparation between 85 and 100%.
