Abstract: The average family size has witnessed a significant decrease in Algeria, after it was about 5.92 members in family in 1966; it has increased to 7.1 members in a family in 1987, then it decreased again to reach 5.4 members in a family in 2012. Theinfant mortality rates have witnessed constant decline during the same period and after it was about 149.4 ‰ in 1966 it decreased to 22.6 ‰ in 2012. from this point we will be wetting through this research paper on the track quantitative development, the average family size and the infant mortality rate in Algeria during the period 1966- 2012, and this is in order to show the effect of the average (size Algerian family) size Algeria families on the infant mortality.
