dc.description.abstractReading activity is of primordial importance among other activities in the Arabic language curriculum for it is the basis upon which texts can be understood and dealt with. Reading hence is the key and the access to the other activities. The curriculum focuses mainly on this skill at the primary and intermediate levels in particular. However, it is noticed that there has recently been a lot of complaint about pupils ‘poor reading level. This paper is attempting to investigate this skill at middle school according to the recently issued documents by the Ministry of education basing upon the vision of the National Curriculum Reform Committee so to suggest some solutions to the problems encountered.en_US
