Small arms, light weapons and weapons of mass destruction pose a real threat at the national and international levels, whether in conflict areas or in areas of peace. The maritime domain is one of the methods used by shipping carriers to evade the control of the movement of weapons. In order to combat this phenomenon, it is imperative to disclose the mechanisms adopted and adopted by the international community to curb maritime smuggling, whose provisions we find are contained in the conventions related to the law of the sea and international agreements related to the arms trade. One possible solution to an arms embargo at sea is found in United Nations Security Council resolutions. It is the main topic of this article. The article addresses legal issues related to the scope of state intervention against ships suspected of illicit arms transfersen_US
